Dartford Township Choir is delighted to present the results of its latest series of workshops led by the inspirational musical director Mike King and featuring members of the Mike King Collective vocal group.

DTC has worked with Mike King at the MJC since 2011 and we are delighted to welcome his return. He is one of the UK’s leading contemporary vocal coaches and choir leaders and as a musical director and arranger his musicianship, energy and enthusiasm are unrivalled. Mike has been involved in the music industry for over 20 years and has worked as a vocal coach on The Voice UK, helped smash a Guinness World Record by conducting 5,000 singers at Wembley Arena and directs choirs worldwide. He was a lecturer at Goldsmiths University of London for 12 years and was a guest vocal tutor at the University of East London and London Metropolitan University. He has worked with international artists including Angelique Kidjo, Ronson, Boy George, Lily Allen and Florence and the Machine. In addition to facilitating vocal workshops and masterclasses nationally and internationally he organises luxury singing holidays worldwide. The Mike King Collective (MKC) is one of the UK's premier contemporary vocal groups. Its soulful vocals, rich harmonies and uplifting performances have inspired audiences across the UK. The MKC has recorded for the BBC, performed live on Channel 4, sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe, and worked with some of the music industry’s biggest names. For this performance, DTC and MKC will perform Mike King’s innovative arrangements of well-known contemporary songs made famous by some of the best artists in the business.
